Twin Oaks Elementary Science Docent Program
Twin Oaks Elementary is proud to have a Science Lab on our campus! This is a parent volunteer led program that started in 2019. The goal is to provide a hands on learning environment to further solidify science topics being taught in the classroom. We hope this will create a love for science and encourage students to predict, investigate, test, and analyze results throughout their life. |

Looking for a fun way to help at Twin Oaks?
Be a Science Docent! Science docents are parent volunteers who lead a fun, hands-on science activity for your child’s class in the science lab about 4-5 times during the school year.
Not a scientist? Not a problem. All the information and materials are provided. The lessons include a brief review of the topic and detailed instructions for each activity.

About our Program
The Twin Oaks Elementary Science Docent Program was initiated in the 2019 school year. It is a completely volunteer run program. It is a unique program which allows students from 4th through 6th grade to have fun and explore with hands-on experiments about four times a year in a dedicated science lab. None of this could be possible without our parent volunteers!
The program is unique in that, the experiments are facilitated and led by parents. This close relationship between parents, teachers, and students fosters greater learning opportunities for students, greater participation by parents and provides teachers the flexibility to teach the depth and breadth of the subject matter.
Teachers teach, parents support, and our children succeed!
